Admissions into the Committee On Immunology

The COI utilizes holistic review criteria to evaluate candidates for the PhD program.  Applicants are evaluated and scored based on the following criteria: academic curriculum, academic performance, scholarly engagement outside of coursework, the extent of research experience, understanding of research process, motivation to pursue the field, technical skills, why UChicago, and creativity and innovative thinking.  Applicants are also credited for additional strengths, including leadership experience, teaching and mentoring experience, community service, evidence of teamwork and time management, resilience and perseverance, other relevant talents, awards, and other forms of research communications (papers, posters, etc.).
